LaSwabbie.... thanks for the compliment, but I managed to be a part of that fun twice. Once in 1969 and the second time in 1971 compliments of the U.S. Army. I picked up quite a few of these covers on my only trip to Saigon. I'll post some more when I find them. I also have some stamps from Cambodia and Laos from those years. I only collect U.S. stamps so I have put the Southeast Asian covers and collection somewhere. My daughter has now decided she wants to collect worldwide, thanks to Tom (nr-notrare)who has helped perk her interest in collecting by his sheer kindness. When I find them I'll be giving them to her.
Ah, the mysterious "somewhere." I have a lot of stuff I've put there. When you find out where "somewhere" is, please let me know. I've got a lot of baseball cards and an Army patch collection there!
Sfgoda, if you ever find that somewhere, please post more of your covers here so I can drool. I also had an all expense paid trip there in 1971, and being stationed at an Army annex just off Tan Son Nuit airbase, got into Saigon pretty frequently. But all I had on my mind at the time was taking pictures so picking up some Vietnamese stamps never occurred to me. Drat!
