No laughing please. This 1875-77 50 Pfennige,I cant tell if it is slate green or gray. Any help please. I am betting for the slate green.(Don't ever be colorblind)

This stamp appears to be washed out and a changling. I believe the areas that show as brown were the original printed areas. The crest, ornaments and oval was unprinted.

I too think that it is just a changling. I can see brown as well which suggests to me that there has been some oxidizing taking place on it (?)

Or could the brown patches be more of the rust you can see at the edges?
