Here's an interesting one, well two actually (both from New Zealand)

'Help Free Tibet' Cinderella on the left,

plus another one which has crept in amongst the postage stamps on the right.........'Postes Moulins' - Local post of Timaru, New Zealand.

Nice cover. Is Timuru part of Auckland ? So has the local seen proper usage ?
Looks like the Imperial Stamp Company are/were politically motivated !

The label comes from a sheetlet of 4, rouletted.
Is your label rouletted on the bottom side too ? It is NE on the sheet. The other labels show A map of New Zealand, Captain Cook, Show Info.

Timaru is around 1000 kilometers south of Auckland, on the South Island. (Auckland is on the North Island). So the usage is not correct.

The date printed on this stamp is 1968 - 2009 and denomination 30c and the only info I have is of a 1968 POSTES MOULIN SERVICE 1c & 2c original issue.

On December 2, 1968, two teenagers calling themselves Moulin Services set up a bicycle local post in Timaru, New Zealand. They offered to deliver letters for 2¢ (against the Post Office letter rate of 3¢) and registered letters for 5¢ (against 18¢ by the post office) and guaranteed same day delivery.
They issued a series of "stamps" to be affixed to mail on the service. These were crude typeset productions printed by the Classic Printing Co and line-rouletted 6¾. After being applied to letters the "stamps" were cancelled by double-lined circular marks applied in black and containing initials of the two operators (SJY or BRH) in the centre.
On April 12, 1969, the existence of this service came to the notice of the New Zealand Postmaster General who ordered its immediate suspension.

Perhaps this is an issue created by Imperial? More investigation needed.

Just checked and the Tarapex is rouletted on the bottom edge. Here's the front of the cover.

I posted some Exhibition material in james' thread and the following two sheets I found at the same place as those shown there.
Both IPF items issued to celebrate the 1st convention of Israel Philatelists in 1987.
Depicted is the Menorah stamp from the 1952 tribes and Menorah definitive issue in colour reproductions and printed from the original plate.
The second sheet shows the 1949 Israel Flag issue.
Both sheets were given to convention delegates in numbered pairs [mine are 22] from a limited edition of 550.

RE the Timaru Bicycle Post. I found some info here.
and it also notes a celebratory 15c issue from Occussi-Ambeno 1989, but nothing as late as the mystery one the cover.

I think I've solved the mystery of the 30c Timaru Bike stamp.

Pirate postie Bruce Henderson is at it again – 40 years after his original Timaru bike post service was shut down.

Mr Henderson is cycling from the Timaru District Council chambers to the SBS Centre on Morgans Rd to celebrate the opening of Timpex, New Zealand's annual stamp exhibition.

It's the first time since 1950 Timaru has hosted a major stamp exhibition, and Timpex will run until Sunday.

As an 18-year-old just out of Timaru Boys' High School, Mr Henderson was busted for operating the Timaru Bike Post.

These days Mr Henderson holds a respectable job as a publisher, but when he heard Timaru was hosting the exhibition this year, he offered to re-enact his bike post delivery in celebration of the event.

In honour of the occasion, he has even printed his own stamps – which, at 30c, again undercut the official post office stamp rate

Still unsure why the Timaru stamp would appear on an Auckland posted cover, but suspecting Imperial may have been the printer - because coincidentally the owner of Imperial is named Bruce, and the orchid photo is by Bruce. Then again Bruce Henderson is a publisher......the plot thickens.
(BTW The NZ stamps used total 70c which is the correct rate)

On the earlier offerings the year is only noted on the lower selvedge of a full sheet, so once the sheet has been split up the year is often unknown. A potential solution below on the YouTube link.

Cinderella-related stories are so often hard to unravel. Some, darn near impossible.

Below is a 1933 label from the West Country Air Service flight, Plymouth-Southampton-Croydon [London]. The service ran for just over a year before closing.
The labels were issued in panes of 4 stapled to a pad of unknown quantity. Unstapled panes are near impossible to find.
3 different printings exist in varying and noticeable shades.

Below the label are 3 colour trials on card. They may be proofs but those seen have a printers name on the reverse [F.J.Field].
These are good quality and look genuine but searches for more information have thus far proved fruitless. [although ongoing].

Research is ongoing.

It is ongoing for this item too......it fell out of a 2008 Cinderella Philatelist Journal, and I was in shock at the prices it's fetching.
Again, not much info, just that it was issued around 1933-34. No idea of printer. The Orient line went out of business in 1966.



If anyone has any info I'd be grateful for the heads-up.
