Here is one of my weekend buys. It is B215 (showing a mail coach) with an exhibition cancel from 1943. The surtax was earmarked for Hitler's "National Culture Fund." The picture is cropped from a small exhibition card.



Roughly translated, the card says: Commemorative Sheet - For the Postage Stamp (Collector's) Day

The cancel says: Community of German Collectors

Bob....Wien is German for Vienna. Austria was under German rule from 1938 to 1945. That stamp was issued Jan 10, 1943 so it appears that the First Day ceremony was at a stamp show in Vienna. Scott does not mention the first day city and I can not find my German Michel at the moment to verify.
