A reminder to members in the UK - don't forget 1st and 2nd class prices rise from Monday 4th April - buy before then, and save money!

Standard 1st Class (up to 100g) to rise 5p to 46p, 2nd to rise 4p to 36p. Large Letter - 1st Class up 9p to 75p, 2nd Class up 7p to 58p.

Invest in some stamps today - no bank will give you that kind of interest!

What's the difference between 1st and 2nd class service etc? Does the envelope have to be open for 2nd? (not sealed). Does 1st go faster and by how much if so?

In Canada (and the US) we just have one rate for first class so curious.

Puzzler,

First class is [almost] guaranteed for next day delivery, while 2nd class can take 1-3 days [sometimes more depending on distance].
