Sounds like a strange story for a first post - but here goes. I know nothing about stamps - yet I was out in my barn this morning circa 1810 - snooping around - and noticed barely attached to an old pipe and cigarette tobacco can - a blue piece of paper. The entire stamp is not there. It's blue in color – paper like material. The left side says Stamp, below that U.S. INTER., below that REV. If you were to look at it like at dollar bill – these would be on the left – facing the center of the bill. Now, the portion of the print that is to the right of that – which is horizontal, larger print and in the center starts to read "ONE AN" - I believe you can read part of the next letter "D" – however I'm not 100% on that. Below that on the bottom edge there is the word "Bureau" in smaller print. Graphics between the words are those similar to a dollar bill inbetween the words that I have described. The height is that of a penny and the length is 1.5 times a penny.
Any feedback and information would be very interesting to me. Thanks in advance. Mike

Mike sounds like you have a tobacco revenue stamp. Revenue collector will be by sometime and be able to help you out, but if you want to go looking in the meantime here is an web address with pictures of most of the revenue stamps in the US. http://www.revenue-collector.com/
That's not much to go on as there hundreds of different combinations. There are many USIR Tobacco revenue stamps used for Cigars, Cigarettes, Pipe & Chewing tobacco.
How many ounces did the can contain? Are there any pictures on the stamp? What color is the printing ink on the blue paper? Can you determine a "Series Of" value? Any additional information you can provide would be helpful.
