I think this stamp from Angola was part of the first stamp set that I ever bought. It was in one of those short set packages sold by stores back in the 50's by Harris and others. I bought the set at Kauffman's Store on Warren Avenue and Greenfield back in Detroit. A few weeks later Mom bought me the 3 cent Whopping Crane stamp from the post office and I have been collecting ever since.

Here are images of the two similar stamps in a set depicting an African lion inside Waza National Park, North Cameroun, designed and engraved by Georges Bétemps, and issued by Cameroun on June 20, 1964, Scott Nos. 396 & 397.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting a lioness hunting antelopes, printed by lithography, and issued by Rwanda on December 27, 1982 as one of ten stamps in a set commemorating the 10th anniversary of the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment, Scott No. 1113.
