Wow, serious necrothread, but thanks, I'll pass that on to my wife and see if she's dealt with him before. :) |

I hope I'm not in violation of the policy here (and I apologize if I am), but I'm a collector who is downsizing my Japan collection, and opened a little Bidstart store to do it. (I've got much, much more to list, and welcome wantlists to know what to focus on.)

I no longer actively collect in this field but might venture the opinion that, the big reason for the apparent drop off in availability of Japanese philatelic material is that fewer are now collecting it. And, the big reason is the prolific issuance of excessive numbers of stamps with high face values. It has the appearance of trying to fleece collectors. Buying new issues will set you back few hundred dollars a YEAR. Endless numbers of sheets depicting cartoon characters, that sort of thing.
PS, someone earlier mentioned Japan Philatelic Group in the UK as a possible source of supply. They are apparently no longer active, Google search brought up a notice that they were no longer available. So, more evidence of decline in this area, sad. |

I tried that link. Too many hoops to jump through, I was five screens into it before I gave up. I think there is an issue with translation Japanese to English. |

I am a dealer and I have some Japan stamps in stock. I have mint, used, classic and modern materials in both complete set or singles. I sell some of them on ebay. Let me know the Scott numbers you are looking for, I am sure that I can help you. Happy collecting! |
