One of the pleasures of life is simply knowing I own this. The line radiating from the upper right corner is a wrinkle. She is without gum.

The stamp itself was issued for the 150th anniversary of the Constitution of the United States (ratified in 1787). Countries all over the world issued similar stamps featuring the flags of their country and of the USA juxtaposed.
I had acquired this mint hinged as part of a Spain box lot. Well, it was one of the stamps the ended up in the snow during the move. It was in a pitiful state, badly wrinkled, gum partially melted here and there. I have been giving it some TLC, just soaked it to clean off all of the gum, and then drying it carefully. I am quite pleased with the way it turned out.

smauggie, that's a very nice looking liberty stamp and would be an excellent addition to anyone's collection. You did a great job reviving this somewhat damaged stamp. |

Too late Mr Lovell, Londonbus1 has seen it ! Definitely 'WOW' material. Smauggie, which other countries issued similar stamps ? And were they in sheets like this ? Oh yes and.... Quote: One of the pleasures of life is simply knowing I own this.
.....that should be my line ! Enjoy, and thanks for the story. Londonbus1....off in search of more Flags ! |

This is just one of a series of stamps issued in Panama to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the US Constitution (all same design). |

Verrrrry nice Smauggie. Envy and jealousy are such ugly emotions, but I embrace them, just the same. Here's Ecuador's contribution to the celebrations. A handsome specimen I always thought. |

The Ecuadorian stamp in my mind is superior. But then it is made by the American Bank Note Co. |
