Here is an image of an airmail stamp depicting Concorde, the Ader Éole (an early steam-powered aircraft), and a list of cities on Concorde's air route, printed by lithogravure, and issued by Mali on January 25, 1979 to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of Concorde's first commercial flight, Scott No. C353.

In the second post of this thread, the Bulgarian stamp is certainly an interesting concept of the Concorde. It is almost a caricature.

Londonbus1: Was that 50 pound note a legal currency issue or a collectors issue note?

A new minisheet arrived today for my collection which features the Concorde. Thought I'd revive the thread.

Short Concorde story…
The Concorde flew into Asheville NC in early April 1987 (Asheville has 8000 foot runway). Folks had paid large premiums for this type charter flight; it was to land, fly them out to London, they would spend about 12 hours on the ground in London, then fly them back to Asheville. I went out to the Asheville airport with video camera in hand and snuck onto some property on the opposite side of the airport (this was before tighter security). As the plane came in it first did some fly-overs a few hundred feet over the runway in various configurations (nose up, nose down, wings titled). The day was cold, overcast and was beginning to rain but I thought it was truly awe-inspiring. Goodness that plane was LOUD, the kind of low frequency rumble that goes right through you.

But the cold rain turned over to snow and the Concorde got grounded in Asheville overnight! The next day they went ahead and flew everyone to London but due to scheduling issues, they only stayed less than an hour and had to fly everyone back to Asheville! I guess the folks who had paid the $2500 per person weren't going to London for reasons other than to fly on the Concorde, but that seemed like big bucks to pay for an hour or two in London.
