Can someone help with some information about this Swiss item? Kinda off the page and can't find it. Is it a franchise stamp c1910-1920? or Cinderella?

I'm pretty sure it is a cutout from a Swiss postal card of the 1870's to 1880's. I don't have a H&G number, though, unless it is tucked in a file name somewhere. If no one pops up with one, I'll look.

[edit: Looks like it could be one of several H&G numbers, over many years...without the rest of the card, I can't tell, as I don't have the information that would be necessary to i.d. by die (if that is even possible).]

Yes, 1880's to 1890's I think (the 1870's were red I think).

ebay Newbie.
Considering putting some stamps of Switzerland on ebay,

What do members suggest the listing format to be, please?

Year (cat number) ????

I only have SG and Scott Catalogues, will this pass muster?
or do members suggest Michel numbers, any others?
If so, is there a cross ref anywhere?

Thanks.

Rod, I collect Switzerland and regularly buy off both E-Bay and Bidstart, as well as Stamporama and Delcampe. Personally I use the Zumstein catalog, but I found that if sellers use Scott, the year of issue and a (short) description in addition to a scan it usually suffices.

Thanks Pete!
yes that's how I go with Romania, I usually search by year
and know off hand the relative issues.
So that makes sense, especially for more sophisticated issues.
So Scott it is.
Thanks for responding.

Rod, can you let us know when you put the Switzerland on E-Bay? Or maybe you can tell us your seller name?

Pete

I shall do Pete,
but with all fairness, may be a few weeks,
I have an album full, mainly of blocks of 4 MUH
Not sure what I have, also some early stuff, cinderellas and test prints.
I shall contact you as I list.
