Battlestamps:
Received your Trucial States sheets today

Thank you.
Feedback : Fast transit, well packaged, stiffeners
great cover well postmarked
Highly recommended 9/10

I took off 1 point
no invoice or indication or purchase point.

I knew who it was, but some lots I get from around the world
arrive with nothing inside as to whom it's from
Just using your lot to illustrate the point

PS: Your cover was interesting

Your hand script included a illegible Postcode 6315
Your curl to the six, was interpreted as a 4
giving a postcode of 4315, so it went to sydney
before being returned to WA

I once sent some stamps to a friend in Denmark
they went via Denmark in South West Australia
before heading overseas.

Received purchaise from Stampvirgin the other day! Great stamps inside, but more stiffeners would be nice- it looks as if someone in the USPS decided to try to crumple it into a paper ball, and some stamps were wrinkled (not complaining). Fine after being stuffed under 1/4 ton of reference books.

Rod: Glad you got them. Sorry about the post code - my handwriting isn't the best at all. Archaeology has damaged my hands fairly well. When I do large numbers of ebay orders I can get my wife to address things otherwise I try to print carefully. I usually write on the chipboard item numbers, ebay or Delcampe and a thanks in lieu of a printed invoice. You should have got the thanks/id name written down, but the shipment was unusual for me as between you and Ray it was my first two orders outside of ebay or Delcampe ever - no real item #'s, etc. It's not as systematic for me as ebay and Delcampe has become. As for lack of printed invoice: I never send a printed one - no printer. I haven't had one for about 6-7 years now.

Just glad it made it there safely. The nice postmarks are the result of a great postmaster at a one man post office.

Enjoy! Will

p.s. I need to find a cover that was sent back to me from another collector back during my Stamp Trader List days. It went to New Zealand, but only after passing through the Czech Republic first.

Apology not needed :)
It looked entirely correct to me.
I applied for a Aust Post Sorter some 6 years ago,
and I went inside the sorting room, these guys and gals work at a frenetic pace, no reading the addresses, they see a number and bang, it's gone.
We have to hand them some space.

And if anyone has done any leaflet delivering,
Postboxes in all shapes and sizes and in all differing postions
you can feel sympathy for the poor old Postie.

Thank you, Rod, but it's really not necessary.

I thoroughly enjoy working with kids and it wouldn't be possible without the kind people, like yourself and others here, who donate materials. We must all do our part to ensure that our hobby is passed on to the next generation!

A long time ago, well over a year back if my memory serves me well, I mentioned on one of the SCF threads that I did not have a certain USA 'Flag' stamp and that it was missing from my list. I cannot find the thread, it may have been the 'Flags'...but I did not fancy trawling through all those pages only to be disappointed.

Fast forward over a year to this afternoon.
I was making some room for more 'stuff' in the bedroom closet when a large envelope popped out. It was from Spanishmoss.
I had put it there together with other oversize envelopes and to my surprise I had left the beautiful Thematic envelope inside the outer cover....I had forgotten to put it with the other Flag covers in their special album !

As I found a space for the cover I noticed something was inside the envelope.
And there it was ! A pair of Bunker Hill 2½c Flag stamps [Liberty series] inside a pristine glassine envelope with a sticker which read:
" just in case you haven't gotten one yet"

That little note will sit beside the pair of stamps [which I still hadn't got until today] as a reminder of what wonderful people there are here.

Spanishmoss, Thank you.

Londonbus1......not always so late with feedback !
