This just arrived, Wurttemberg Scott #2. What a beauty! It has a light Eningen cancel, 10 Apr 1853. It cost me a couple of bucks

Congrats BeeSee.

Thanks for sharing. This is so far out of my area of expertise that I'm embarrassed to comment.

But it is definitely striking with the yellow and honeycomb design.

Thanks guys!

Actually I found another I have, Scott #15.

Kirks, I too know little about Wurttemberg stamps, I am learning. It is part of my quest to make an album page of every stamp issuing entity (affordable of course )

Hi BeeSee...

A worthy goal to be sure. I'm currently up to 385 stamp issuing entities with at least 1 stamp. Currently working on the album pages for them. I have 32 stamps currently in my Wurttemberg collection. I'll post some sample pics in a little while.

Dave.

A sampling of some of the Wurttemburg stuff I've found so far. Sadly I seem to have lowered the dpi setting a little much, so these are a little small.

Early Germany and the component states has been a very interesting area of stamps. One of my secondary subject areas. Canada and the commonwealth is where I spend most of my time.

BeeSee, you have a great looking stamp with an attractive cancel. I'm pleased that you mentioned your Wurttemberg acquisition because it reminded me that I have over 100 at the back of my Germany red box which I forgot about. I just looked at my stamps and see I also have a #2 with a nice light cancel. I'll scan it and show you later when my wife is off the computer with the scanner connected to it.
Regards
Mike

BeeSee, here are copies of my first three Wurttemberg stamps. They are #2, #4 and #5. The cancels are faint but if anyone can hazard a guess what the names of the towns/cities are, I would appreciate it.

CJD and BeeSee, you felllows have great eyes and probably a familiarity with German place names. Using my magnifying glass it appears you are right on your place names. Thanks a lot!

The # 4 stamp has a fainter name and unfortunately the first few letters I can't make out but are followed by "...O or DERST?TT..." I think.
