I did a Google search on "upper silesia forged overprint" looking for information on another post I started yesterday, and look what comes up on top: THAT POST!

See, the title you use makes a difference in people (including yourself) finding the post and thread.

Also the words used in your post make a difference.

Example, if you post the pic of the stamp and no description of it in words, then there is nothing to search for. (not sure how Google looks at pics on Stamp Community, the names you call the pictures that is), but if you call it something descriptive, especially in tour message to the forum, then people will find it.

Good point puzzler.

That is why if someone posts a thread with a title: "Please help identify", once the stamp is identified, the poster should edit the title to something like "Please help identify [SOLVED]: Upper Silesia"

I also find it helpfull to find a topic post in the SCF search function when a descriptive title and content is used. It can take some creative thinking sometime to find an old post.

Definatly have to thank the admin/ mods for knowing there stuff. All the stuff going on in the background really helps Google find us first. Wonder if a few other board admins get a wee bit jealous when they google and SCF is on top. Think maybe the advertising rates should go up . Great work and proud to call this home.

Well done Puzzler!

Exactly why it is important to offer
GOOD AND PERTINENT thread topics.

It doesn't take a second to consider how
your own personal query can best be written philatelically.
