I found this neat little Guadeloupe Scott J4 postage due hiding in some cheap Roman State reprints I got on ebay. The reverse has what appears to be a handstamp (v.) mark - can anyone identify?

It is likely a validation that the stamp is genuine, but usually it would have a mark by the authenticator. However, this maybe a mark used only by this one authenticator. I have seen a site online that shows the experts that have authenticated stamps and the mark they used, but I don't recall where.
