The stamp set features Rajah Brooke's Birdwing (Trogonoptera brookiana), Emperor Scorpion (Pandinus imperator), Blue Ground Beetle (Carabus intricatus), Mexican Redknee Tarantula (Brachypelma smithi).

On December 25, 1995 Costa Rica issued a minisheet of four different rouletted stamps as an "America UPAEP" issue with the theme of sustainable development. Two of the stamps in this sheet depict landscapes, and two show native fauna, including this 50 colones value depicting leafcutter ants (Atta cephalotes).

From wikipedia, "Atta cephalotes is a species of leafcutter ant in the tribe Attini (the fungus-growing ants). A single colony of ants can contain up to 5 million members...The colony comprises different castes, known as "task partitioning" and each caste has a different job to do...A special cast of workers manages the colony's rubbish dump. These ants are excluded from the rest of the colony. If any wander outside the dump, the other ants will kill them or force them back. Rubbish workers are often contaminated with disease and toxins, and live only half as long as their peers."

ABSTRACT
The use of insect design in the art of philately is analyzed from 80 postage stamps that are to be found in the Ethnobiology Laboratory Collection at Feira de Santana State University. These stamps come from 12 countries and insect species represented on them
are distributed in seven taxonomic orders. Lepidoptera and Coleoptera are the two must represented orders with philatelic designs.

The former contributes with 51 postage stamps, which are classified in 10 families and 46 identified species. The latter shows up
with 17 postage stamps, which are classified in 8 families and 16 identified species.
Through this entomophilatelic art Post Offices develop an environmental education by arousing in the public a liking for the study of entomology, as well as to make the presence
of insects and other invertebrates more acceptable in daily life.

Despite the language barrier, items searchable by Latin Genus.

On January 2, 1998 Norway issued an eight-stamp booklet of 3.80 kr stamps (2 designs, horizontally se-tenant) featuring a dragonfly (Facit #1319) and a grasshopper (Facit #1320) in summer settings.

Singapore's 1985-9 set of 12 "Insects" definitive stamps (SG #s 491-502, Sc #s 453-64) were multicolor offset printed by the Japanese Government Printing Bureau. The smaller, 5c to 75c stamps of this set have been shown on page 7 of this thread.

Here are are high value, $1 to $10 stamps of the set. These stamps have a slightly more finished appearance, because they include dark brown or black ($2 value) recess-printed details on the insects.
