Love the large queens- I have the 5c rare perf variety and 12.5c balloon dot (3 guide dots) variety. Think I'm about 5 short of 100 large queens in total although a few are pretty rough. There were other perf varieties I don't think were listed - I have a 15c that is over 12 on all sides . Have to rescan or figure how to hook up my old harddrive that has all the pics. Really been seeing some incredibly high above catalog prices for premium old canada.

Unfortunately there wasn't much for Queens in the collection. Here are what I thought were the best of the bunch, and they all have their issues.

½¢ Queen, I kind of like this one because of it being off centered, it gave it 3 Boardwalk margins and has some eye appeal.

Stallzer,
The 1/2 cent queen has a nice minor re-entry going for it (esp. UR corner).
The 2c is really nice, and I really want to reach in and unbend that LL corner ...Things like that I really notice, not a good idea though unless you are careful and perhaps soak the corner a bit.
Nice stamps.

Thanks, I'll hit that perf with the q-tip. Here are a couple of the large Queens, not too many plums in this pile.

I do love the centering on this 12½

I like the Pen cancel on this one

Interesting pen cancel. I'm guessing it was a busy day at the Post Office, or the Postmaster was otherwise rushed and cancelling the letters as fast as possible. The ink was smeared before it even had a chance to dry (which is usually pretty fast).

As do I! This particular stamp, in VF condition, has eluded me. They almost always have small margins (top or bottom) or have killer cancellations.

Overall, quite impressive!

Stallzer - do you have a sharper scan of the 12-1/2c? It is quite blurry. I would like to see more detail.

Thanks.
Me too. That's why I got it. How can you not love a stamp like that.
If I can find 2 or 3 more early stamps like that this year, I'll be happy. Quality over quantity.
C.
