Here are images of the four stamps in a set depicting sailing ships: Ocean, Horatio, H.M.S. Calliope, and H.M.S. Calypso, printed by lithography, and issued by Samoa on January 26, 1981, Scott Nos. 543-46.

This "Post and Go" computer-vended stamp from the U.K. pictures an 18th century mail-carrying vessel. It is one of 6 labels of the "Mail by Sea" set issued on 14 February 2018.

According to Wikipedia, "Antelope was a West Indian packet ship launched in 1780...She is most famous for a desperate single ship action in 1793 when her crew captured a better-armed French privateer with a much larger crew...Atlante, a French privateer from Charleston, South Carolina had a crew of 65, consisting of Frenchmen, Irishmen, and Americans."

This Spanish, April 2000 computer-vended stamp advertises the Cadiz Regatta. It depicts the four masted schooner "Juan Sebastian de Elcano" of Cadiz. The stamp was valid for postage through February of 2002.

St. Pierre & Miquelon - Tall Ships

This May 2003 issue of Spain depicts the sailing ship Tajo from the 18th century. The vessel was named after the Rio Tajo (English =Tagus River), the longest river in the Iberian peninsula. This stamp is actually a re-issue, or re-use of the labels first issued in April 1998 during the peseta currency era. 200 million of the labels were originally printed.

Here are the sailing ships from Australian Antarctic Territory's 1979-81 "Ships" series.

In May 2002 Spain issued two "Tall Ships" computer-vended stamps. The first scan shows the sail and steam powered Infanta Isabel, which was built in 1885. On this stamp, the Epelsa ATM printer gives some additional information. The stamp was vended on 25 April '03 from machine #4094 (lower left), and the envelope weighed 88 grams (center of stamp).

The second scan shows the schooner Carmen Flores, which was built in 1919. Since 2001 it is known as Santa Eulalia. In this case, the printer provides little information; only the machine (#4114) and the cost of the mailing.

An old wooden schooner is depicted on this stamp of French Polynesia. It is Scott #221.

In June 2002 Spain issued two more "Tall Ships" computer-vended stamps (see previous posting, two up). They are Michel ATM #s 85-6. The first scan shows the sail and steam powered Miguel M. Pinillos built in 1885.

The second scan shows the Gitano built in 1750. This label was sold from machine #0400 in Barcelona.
