The souvenir sheet marks Szczecin, Poland as one of the five ports for the 2017 tall ship races.

Seiner Majestät Schiff (SMS) ("His Majesty's Ship") Novara was a sailing frigate of the Austro-Hungarian Navy which circumnavigated the globe during the Novara Expedition of 1857-1859. Here is an image of an airmail stamp depicting the Novara at St. Paul Island in November 1857, designed and engraved by French artist Pierre Béquet (1932-2012) after original artwork by J. Noel, and issued for use in French Southern and Antarctic Territories on January 1, 1985, Scott No. C87, plus an image of the book cover for the official report on the Novara Expedition.
