The France II was a French sailing ship and the second one of that name. She was the second largest commercial merchant sailing ship ever built. She was 146.5 meters long and could carry 7,300 tons of cargo.

The Cuauhtémoc Sail Training Vessel

ARM Cuauhtémoc is a sail training vessel of the Mexican Navy. She is the last of four sister ships built by the Naval Shipyards of Bilbao, Spain in 1982.

Here is an image of an engraved stamp depicting an 18th century gentleman and a mail ship bound for the West Indies, and issued by Spain on January 2, 1975 as one of a set of four stamps commemorating the 125th anniversary of Spanish postage stamps, Scott No. 1867.

Stamp of the USSR, 1971, showing the frigate Oryol, the first Russian-built warship.



Dunno if this qualifies as a "tall ship," though. Opinions?

Of course, who can ignore the 50c Canada Bluenose stamp, said by some to be the most beautiful stamp in the world!



I guess technically, this is not a "tall ship" as it is not square rigged, but it is one darned nice-looking stamp!

In the center of Saint Petersburg there is the Admiralty building with high gilded spire

The spire is decorated with a gilded weather vane in the shape of the frigate "Orel" ("Eagle")

Here is an image of a stamp depicting a caravel under sail, a lighthouse, the Basilica of Saint Nicholas in Bari, Italy, and a mosque, designed by R. di Sanctis, printed by photogravure, and issued by Italy on August 21, 1950 to publicize the 14th Levant Fair, Scott No. 542.
