Thanks to another thread and laswabbie's posted thread on Eritrea, I started looking at exotics in my collection again. I realized that this small island in its early stamps (1947 and on) has to have some of the most beautiful topical engraved stamps of anyplace I have seen. Posted are the first 10 - 15 years from this country along with a few of my favorites expanded. The landscape design incorporating the Norfolk Pine has to be an absolutely magnificent set.

I hadn't as yet set my sights on collecting Norfolk Island. Not that it wasn't an eventuality, but I suspect I will be looking to get some sooner rather than later. Thanks for showing them!

Those are great, Backroads.

Do you think you could post a larger scan of the first dozen in the first scan?

They're beautiful.
Kirk

Backroads, thanks for sharing these great stamps. I have stamps from about 40 different Commonwealth countries but none from Norfork Island. I'm going to make an effort to buy some of these.

Here is 1-12 slightly larger than before, Kirk. I can do individual stamps, just let me know.

And what's unusual philb? It's an Un Usual country for show and tell time.

And those others stamps are a great addition mac. May just have to go looking for Tonga and such.

Thanks Backroads. That set reminds me of the National Parks in the Farley issues.

You and Phil reminded me of an old joke:
Q: What word has 3 U's in it?
A: I don't know, but it must be unusual.

Backroads, I like that set as Kirk said they do remind me of the Farleys. Phil you always seem to have the right cover for the job.
