Rod, Here are the Bochmann entries for your two latest cancels. Yours is a SW 11 ag. The note in the catalog translates as "First line of text in hollow letters and underlined. Last line in cursive and underlined with short, thick shaded strokes. First and second line of text each in a partially open frame." There are numerous variety notes below the listing, but none for Berlin SW 11 ag. Fellbach 1 and 2 are very similar. The entries translate as follows: #1 -- "Three flowers, a grape with broad shadow between the berries, also see no. 2." #2 -- "Three flowers, a bunch of grapes with berries without shading, also see no. 1." Here's a visual of a #1 (left) and a #2 (right). Note the shading in the grapes. You can see just a bit of the shading in yours, plus the date matches #1 (1936-1938). So, Bochmann Fellbach #1. |

Geez, Rod. Now that I know you're excerpting my posts in your albums, I guess I'll have to start spell-checking! |

Rod, A little more info on that page: The 10 Pf orange block of four is from a booklet pane sheet, or Markenheftchenbogen (MHB). In 1921, Germany issued booklets (MiNr MH 14) which contained 5 panes of stamps, one of which was a pane of 6 10 Pf orange Germanias (MiNr 141). This pane catalogs as MiNr H-Blatt 32. The panes were printed in large sheets, then cut into individual panes. The uncut sheets were also available for sale to collectors, however. What you have is a block of four that was cut from one of these sheets, MiNr MHB 5. Michel being Michel, they actually catalog the gutter pairs as well. MiNr KZ 1. Another of the panes in that booklet was MiNr H-Blatt 31. It was printed in sheet MiNr MHB 4. Your next one is MiNr S16 cut from that sheet. Lastly, the red pane is MiNr H-Blatt 28 from the same booklet, MiNr MH 14. |
