Long time ago I read an article about a Ecuadorian revenue stamp (TIMBRE ORIENTALISTA), later surcharged for postal use with different values. I was amazed because the history was far away from reality. I wrote a comment about this article and it was published.
Any chance someone here can help me to locate both articles and share scan or photocopies?

Nice to have someone from Ecuador. There have been some recent post related to Ecuadorian stamps, especially inquires on the local Fire overprints of 1902 theft & again in 1907! Very interesting issue above, like to read that article!

Hi ecuatoriano,

Do you know which Linn's had the article? I still have a pile of back issues and if I have it I will make a copy and send it to you.

I'll have to look in my Stamp folder as I usually cut these articles out and save them. If it was an article by Tom Myers e-mail him via Linn's and he will probably send you a copy.

Is this any help?

Ecuador, free stamp album, free revenue catalogue
all sorts of goodies for an Ecuador Afficianado.
It's marvelous these people offer their work for free.

Hola,

Are you referring to the Linns Refresher Course by Janet Klug in the July 28, 2008 issue?

G'Day Rodney

That is a great site. I did not know it existed. Do you have something squirreled away for Colombia?

I'm looking for photocopy or scan or referred articles published on Linn's, maybe 8-10 years ago.
I remember it was a question from a reader, later someone replied with an article, next my reply...

Hi ecuatoriano,

You might want to contact Linn's editorial department and ask them. I am sure they can find it in their archives, somehow. Also contact the APRL (American Philatelic Research Library) to try to get a copy of the article.

Hi Jerry,
I wrote to Linn's and get a very fast reply:

"Dear Mr. Velez:

I checked our library file for Ecuador, and unfortunately the articles you
refer to are not in our file.

Without a specific issue date, it is not possible for us to track down the
article.

I'm sorry we can't offer more help. If you can provide the date of issue we
probably would be able to mail a photocopy.

Sincerely,

MB
