New Zealand: 2008 Year of the Rat - Pocket Pets

The 2008 Year of the Rat stamp issue is the 12th in New Zealand Post's Chinese Lunar series. Its theme is 'pocket pets' a term originally given to small rodents kept as pets and since expanded to include rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, ferrets and more. Eminently portable, these tiny animals make popular companions for small children everywhere.

50c - Rabbits
$1.00 - Guinea pigs
$1.50 - Rats
$2.00 - Mice

I know that this is an old thread, but I'm just going through everything.
Those stamps are so cute.
t360, I see you said you like the bunnies, but you aren't sure of the other ones.
I've owned a bunny, and right now I own a rat. I far prefer the rat to the bunny. The bunny was cute, but rats are so much more lovable. They play a lot more as well. I think once you got used to it, you would have a great time with a pet rat,

I just bought 2 hairless rats yesterday. Their names are Gonzo and Grover.

on second thoughts its a bad idea they dont have a big life span and I am still sad about my fish that dies 20 years ago so I will pass but thanks I liked the idea very much

I have had rabbits and Guinea pigs. I like the guinea pigs better. They actually whistle a greeting when you come into the room.

sharksfan-please be careful and make sure that both are boy rats. A number of years ago my oldest daughter bought a rat and didn't know she was pregnant! She had a litter of about 8. crazycat at that time was young and "helped" out one day by cleaning out their cages-putting the males and females together for a short while. We ended up with 29 rats shortly after that! They do make wonderful pets though!
