Hi Mike! I'm fine, thank you. I hope that you and your familiy are also doing well.

The Catalan Philatelic Society was active on the early decades of the 20th century. It desapeared around 1930. I belong to a society, the Barcelona Philathelic and Numismatic Circle, founded in 1924 by former members of the CPS. It's the oldest Catalan Philathelic Society.

Looking forward to see your new treasures.

Barcelona, May 1975. Card for the Philatelic Exhibition of the Sants-Hostafrancs (two Barcelona districts) Philatelic Society, commemorating the 125th an. of the first Spanish stamp, engraved by Bartomeu Tomŕs Coromina (Barcelona, Catalonia, 1808 - Madrid, Spain, 1867). Postmarked on the 135 aniv. of the first stamp official use. It was also the centenary of the first horse tramways of the area, hence the (incorrect!) postmark.

As promised, a few Exhibition items I picked up during my recent UK trip.
Cinderellas in general were hard to find even though I went to 5 Stamp 'events', I just didn't have the luck this time.

But some lovely items were found. Others will be shown elsewhere...here are a few of the Exhibition items. More to come when time allows.

First up is an addition to the 1912 International Stamp Exhibition in London, aka the 'Ideal' stamp. Always hard to find at a decent price and I rarely add to this lot.
This one, and the two following items were gifts from member Stampstudy with whom I spent a lovely 24 hours.I owe him !
Thanks Drew !

Next is a label from the 1928 Pageant of Postage at the Memorial Hall in Farringdon, London, and this is followed by a show cancel from the first British Philatelic Congress in Manchester in 1909. A lovely piece.
EDIT: Edited to say that the label from 1928 is the Grey-Blue variety. I am still looking for the black.

More later

March 21-24, 1980. First Senior Philately Exhibition, held in Valencia (330 km South of Barcelona).

Two embosed stamps: a 1938 civil war stamp (Sagunto's steel workers) and a 1930's charity stamp (Valencia main Post Office). A "Day of the stamp" stamp, with a pm showing a tipical Valencia tatched cottage.

I have just been united with my purchase of the year in the form of these 4 Exhibition sheets.

THE THIRD ANNUAL LONDON STAMP EXHIBITION.

21-28 January 1939 at Central Hall, Westminster, London.

Listed in the Morgan-Wilson catalogue as sheets of 12 [6 ships and 6 planes], I found these back in March and had them sent to a friend in the UK. My recent trip found them at last in my possession and they are real beauties.
These sheets of 18 are not listed and my attempts to find out more have proved fruitless. I hope Glenn may be popping by sometime to offer his views !
The listed sheets, which are themselves scarce, are noted as perf 14˝ x 14 while these are 15 x 14.
Printed by Harrison and Sons.

Very nice!

I don't know how (or if) this fit into the theme in anyway, but I came upon this listing for another set of Poster Stamps that are described as:

Quote:
1939 London Stamp Exhibition, "The Royal Navy In Action". A complete marginal block of 16 different, perforated, gummed labels in deep blue. It is believed that the labels were produced for the 4th London Stamp Exhibition which was postponed due to the war.

That's funny wt. last weekend I found some of those in a cigar box I've had here for some time and never went though. I have 7 of them (strip of 4 and one of 3).

hadn't gotten around to scanning them yet to try and find out what they were - thanks!

yes wt1, it fits in very well. This is a block that UK seller Candlish McCleery has been trying to sell for many years [it seems]. it was on display on their stand at the 2011 Stafford Stamp show so I got a good look at it.
Thought to have been printed by Polystamps as it has similarities to a propaganda issue of the same year with similar style.
The show was due to have taken place at the Central Hall in London, 7-14 October.
I have no idea how many sheets were printed. It seems the price for this block is a little high but my lower offer at Stafford was turned down !

Time will tell.

Common it may be Cursus, but it's a very nice Harrison sheet.
