I got this stamp in a small collection I purchased some time ago.I just came across it again recently. It is supposed to be a double impression (Dobbeltpraeg) but I don' see it. Now, I have bad eyesight so maybe I am just missing it.I did not see a double impression listed in my 2010 Scott catalog so I thinking it is not a double impression. This is the best scan I could get. What do you think? It is a Denmark 1934 #241 Brown 1K MNH.
Thanks
David

Facit says:

#269v: "In the oak-leaf ornament above the figure of value to the right...a short extra line at the lower right corner of the stamp-picture."

"Position 79 in every second sheet."

Thank you cjd, I magnified it and it does have an extra line so 269v it is. I appreciate it.

I could be completely off about this, but I wonder if the "Symbol" on the card in the upper left is "*" signaling "Mint Hinged?" If that is true, and if yours in MNH, maybe someone switched a stamp off the card?

Just a guess.

[edit: If the line is there, then I guess you are in luck. In 2007, it was listed at 1800 kr (which I believe is Swedish kr, not Danish). A bit under $300 at current conversion rates.]

cjd, I took a close look at the back under magnification and it is MH. There is a very light hinge mark on the back Thank you for the extra information. That is fantastic news, I had no idea. I guess I did even better on that collection than I thought.
Thanks again
david

I have a big problem seeing double impressions!

I've seen a few listed on auction websites and often I just cannot see anything unusual. Am I to assume from this that sometimes the double impression is just reserved to a very small portion of the stamp?

"Position 79 in every second sheet."

The term "Double Impression" in U.S. philately refers to all or a portion of the printed sheet coming in contact with the plate ane a partial transfer of the image over the previously printed image. This is a one-out type of event.
The description of ]"Position 79 in every second sheet." make me think this is a double transfer or re-entered position.

Yes, Facit translates the term as "re-entry."

The hinge drops it to 1000kr Swedish, but still pretty nice.
