This stamp has me stumped. It appears to me to be a view of the Danube River at Belgrade, but does not appear to be either a Serbian or Yugoslavian stamp.

It has beautiful background printing and very high level of execution, which suggests that it is an official issue from a major country. Nonetheless, I have no idea what country this could be.

Can anyone help?

Hi, This is a Yugoslav revenue stamp from the Danube Banate (province) issued around 1937.

It's listed in Barefoot as Yugoslavia Banovina #42 priced at £2.50 (2003).

Here are some similar stamps from another posting:

Thanks, nigelc.

I must admit I never though it might be 'back of book.'

It must be the nicest revenue stamp I've ever seen!
