Does anyone know whether this Virgin and Child was originally a painting or a statue? Any information in either case? Thanks in advance.

Hi Tony,

Michel lists a designer and an engraver but doesn't mention any original art work.

I'd suggest graphic art,
that's what Mr. Helbing was known for.
But I am happy to stand corrected.
