The 1913 definitives are by far my favourite set.

Lovely . These are, I assume, listed in SACC. Are they in Robson Lowe?

Not sure about Robson Lowe. They are listed in the Union Handbook, in the SACC they are listed as "deformed letters due to over inking" (I think that is what it is referring to).

The Union handbook? I better track it down, can you please give me the full title? It sounds like one for the shelf

"The Stamps of the Union of South Africa" by S.J Hagger, published by Reijger Publishers Ltd. in 1986 (also known as the Union Handbook – earlier versions were published in 1946, 1952, a Volume II in 1955, combined Volume I & II in 1960, 1979).

I have the 1946 (Standard Catalogue of the Postage Stamps of the Union of South Africa) and 1952 (Handbook/Catalogue - Union of South Africa Stamps) versions but am constantly looking for the latest editions. Theyre quite scarce and expensive.
