From 1924-1940, Germany issued an annual series of stamps to benefit charity. From 1924-1935, the proceeds went to benefit the Duetsche Nothilfe (German Emergency Aid), then from 1936-1940 to the Winterhilfswerk (Winter Relief Fund or WHW).
To encourage postal patrons to buy the charity stamps, Germany printed advertisements on postcards and on flyers which were hung in the post offices.
I managed to pick up a few of the flyers at auction recently. I had to shrink the photos to get under the forum's size limit, so if you want to see the higher res versions, just click on the photos to go to my website.
