Has anyone noticed how cheap mint and unused modern stuff is selling for in duplication on the net ??? I see sheets of stamps from decent countries going for pennies on the dollar...IF you can use 20 to 50 of the same stamp...there is just an oversupply of them on the market..its more to find decent postally used material !!

I wonder if it has anything to do with the recession. The recession we're experiencing in the US is also worldwide. People have been unloading their unused (mint) stamps to pay bills. I have seen dealers' quotes to buy mint material go way down in the last couple of years. It seems to be bottoming out, i.e. not going any lower, like the housing market.
Unemployment has had an impact on what people are willing to sell to meet their obligations.

A Glut !?
surely not. There can be no such thing as that in Philately.
Collectors should be encouraged to hoard,
hoarding removes Glut.

I was really thinking of selling all my modern MNH full sheets of Canada but with prices and realizations in the area of 50-60% of face I'll lick em all first. Definatly a buyers market out there almost wish I had a few extra grand and then a business that wanted a ton of postage for mailing. Definatly want to hit auction in September to see how low things will go. I do agree economy is a major influence and people are grabbing what they can to cover bills and debts.
