Here is an image of a stamp designed after a detail from an icon of Saint Michael the Archangel, printed by lithography, and issued by Greece on June 10, 1964 as one of a set of five stamps depicting Byzantine art, Scott No. 790, plus an image of the entire original 12th century Orthodox Church painted icon.

Cherubs ring the bells on this old Danish Christmas seal. The background and inscription are printed in metallic gold, but mysteriously there is no date. Since the inscription is "Peace on Earth", it may be from 1918 0r 1919.

This 1984 stamp from Costa Rica depicts a cherub from Raphael's "La Virgen Sixtina". The image is familiar to U.S. collectors because it was used on the one ounce rate "Love" stamp of 1995.

Austria depicted the Archangel Gabriel on this 1973 Stamp Day
issue.
Saint Gabriel the Archangel serves as the patron saint of communication because the angel Gabriel is God's top angelic messenger.
Gabriel also serves as a patron saint of stamp collectors.
