Rod, the SS is an unofficial reprint (Neudruck) but with the approval of the Austrian Post Office. Printed by the Austrian State Printer using original dies but in different colours from the 1918 issue. It is listed in the Austria Netto Katalog  |

rod222, lithograving: Here is another Austrian private souvenir sheet (May 1969) celebrating the 100 years of Vienna State Opera. The design reproduces the 1922 classical musicians stamps Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig von Beethoven, and Johann Strauss II.  |

Rod, in the ANK catalogue this souvenir sheet is listed under a section titled Nachdrucke mit Genehmigung der Postwhich Google translates as Reprints with permissionfrom the Post OfficeGenehmigung also translates as approval,authorization,licensing,granting, sanctioning. The Austrian Post Office gave permission to have 3 of their previously issued postage stamps reprinted (in different colours) by the State Printer for the IFA Exhibition. The sheet was not valid for postage. |

This private SS was for WIPA 1965 and again as for the one above the ANK catalogue calls this a Neudruckblock. I believe the sheet was printed by the State Printer using the original die of the 1933 WIPA stamp only changing the colour from blue to red. Not valid for postage.  |

This letter arrived today November 8, 2019, was posted on October 29, 2019 Souvenir sheet for 150 years of Diplomatic Relations Austria - Japan issued October 15, 2019. Notice the ink jet spray on bottom right, indicating the letter was processed in Montreal on November 4, 2019.   |
