Centenary of the Death of K. H. Mácha

Karel Hynek Mácha (1810 – 1836) was a Czech romantic poet. His bronze statue is located in Petrín Hill Park in Prague. The statue depicts the young poet standing, one hand ready with pen and paper, while the other hand holds a clutch of flowers.

Wisdom is an Art Deco statue over the entrance to the main building of Rockefeller Center in New York City. It is one of the most notable works by Lee Lawrie (1877 - 1963), a prominent American architectural sculptor.

The statue of Avalokitesvara was found in a tin mine at Bidor in Perak. The 93 cm tall bronze statue is dated to the 7th - 12th Century A.D., when the culture of the region was Hindu-Buddhist.

Car of History is an 1819 marble statue and clock by Carlo Franzoni (1789-1819). It portrays Clio, the muse representing history, who stands in the winged "Chariot of Time" with a clock.

Providentia Fountain

Providentia Fountain was created between 1737 and 1739 by sculptor Georg Raphael Donner (1693 - 1742). This is one of his great Baroque masterpieces. It is situated in the Neuer Markt square in central Vienna. In the center of a granite fountain basin is a bronze statue of Providentia, with a large shield showing a Janus head.

Pharaoh Khafre
June 15, 1970
Khafre, also known as Chephren, was the 4th Pharaoh of the 4th Dynasty of ancient Egypt. He was enthroned in ca. 2520 B.C. and reigned for ca. 26 years.
The stamp shows a life-size statue of Khafre made of Egyptian gneiss. The falcon, symbol of God Horus, is in a position of protection and guidance for the Pharaoh.

Cuauhtémoc (ca. 1495 - 1525) was the Aztec ruler of Tenochtitlan from 1520 to 1521, making him the last Aztec Emperor. The statue (1887) features Cuauhtémoc wearing ceremonial clothing with a penacho (plumed headdress) and holding a spear.

The Independent Monument is a neoclassic style column located in the center of the Independence Square in Quito. The Liberty statue, shown in the stamp, stands atop the column. Additional bronze statues of heroes surround the base of the column.
