The 100th Anniversary of the First Danish Nobel Prize

Mod lyset is a bronze statue designed by Rudolph Tegner and was installed in Copenhagen in 1909. It commemorates Niels Ryberg Finsen, a Faroese-Danish physician and scientist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology in 1903. The statue symbolizes Finsen's principal scientific theory that sunlight can have healing properties.

The life-size stone statue is located at the Takht-i-Bahi Buddhist monastic complex in the ancient kingdom of Gandhara (ca. 1st Century B.C. to 2nd Century A.D.).

Leipzig Bach Monument stands at the St. Thomas Church (Thomaskirche) where Johann Sebastian Bach worked as the music director from 1723 until his death in 1750. The bronze statue of Johann Sebastian Bach by the Leipzig sculptor Carl Seffner was dedicated in 1908.

Apoxyomenos (Scraper) is a 2nd - 1st Century B.C. Greek statue discovered in 1996 on the bottom of the sea near the Croatian islet of Vele Orjule, southeast of the island of Lošinj. This 192 cm-tall bronze statue is the most complete and best preserved among eight known Apoxyomenos statues.

Two stamps show statues in the Three Powers Plaza in Brasilia.
Two Warriors (1961) is a contemporary-style bronze statue by Bruno Giorgi (1905 - 1993). It honors the workers who built the city of Brasilia.
The Justice is a stone statue by Alfredo Ceschiatti (1918 - 1989) in front of the Supreme Court. The female figure with a blindfold symbolizes equality with no prejudice.

Set of three, one stamp shows the statue of late Norwegian king Haakon VII (1872 - 1957) at the 7 June Square in Oslo. The bronze statue is the work of sculptor Nils Aas (1933 - 2004).

The design shows the monument of Jean-Antoine Watteau (1684 - 1721), a Late-Baroque painter. The statue was the work of sculptor Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux (1827 - 1875), also born in Valenciennes.

Monument to the Polish Fighters 1939-1945

The stone statue by Andre Greck (1912 - 1993) portrays an allegory of victory holding a dead Polish fighter. It stands in Place de Varsovie in the 16th Arrondissement of Paris.

The Great Siege Monument is located in Valletta, Malta. It consists of three bronze statues symbolizing Faith, Fortitude and Civilization. The monument is the work of the sculptor Antonio Sciortino, and it was inaugurated in May 1927.

The Goethe–Schiller Monument in Weimar includes bronze statue of Johann Wolfgang Goethe (1749–1832) and Friedrich Schiller (1759–1805), the two most revered figures in German literature. The statues were the work of Ernst Rietschel in 1857.
