For about a ten year period, Canada produced booklet panes which consisted of a single strip of three stamps which were nicknamed "Toothpaste" Booklets (Chewing Gum) . Unfortunately, I do not have a complete example to show. Perhaps someone will be able to add a scan to the thread.

If the stamps are seperated, two types are produced. One is a false coil which is only recognizable because it is perf 12 (vertical) as is the regular sheet issue stamp, while the coils are perf 9.5 vertical. The other is a stamp which is imperf on 3 sides and perf 12 on the fourth side. This one comes from the end of the strip.

I know it is common for new collectors to confuse these with the coil issues and thought I would illustrate them just for information.

Oddly, Swedish issues from booklets with these various perf and straight edge varieties are often given a seperate number in Scott's catalogue while these similar ones from Canada are something that has to be really hunted down in their numbering system.
