A fascinating and interesting post, great story, with fantastic scans...well done. Thanks for posting.
Just one negative... a poor thread title after a few weeks it will get lost in the flotsam and jetsam of wasted bandwidth. If you consider something like "Croatia the triangular Cinderellas" or similar, then you fantastic post would be available in our SCF database and available to Googlers throughout the world. You can put "anything for a buck" in the text in the post.

I showed some blocks of these recently on the triangle thread [I believe ]. Until today, I have never heard them called 'Racket Stamps' ! I notice they try to give the impression they are going to be scarce, a very old fashioned selling ploy. Of course they are two a penny and can be found in most topical dealers stock. Nice thread backroads, thanks for sharing. Londonbus1 |

Yes often seen stamps on query posts, I recall learning Hrvatska as being Croatia when I first began collecting and I came across these. The Balkans is a very involved area to understand when stamping. |

#1. there are 12 values (6 flowers, 6 birds). issued both perf. & imp. 2 series of each (1st series had values as _kn, 2nd series only had the numeric value)
#2. these were not the first issue of the exiled NDH government (look for the 1949 UPU anniversary issues).
#3. for all the controversary, the exiled NDH government continued to produce fantasy issues well into the 1970's, including several EUROPA issues. |

I remember the frustration as a young stamp collector when I couldn't find these pictured in my Global album. Put them on a blank page. Great insight into these stamps. They also remind me of the Biafra and Melaku Salataun(?) issues.

I noticed that the last time I looked in a catalogue for issues of Indonesia, a lot of the material that I thought fell into this category was now listed as legitimate in the Scott volume. I don't know whether or not this included those Melaku Selantin Maluku Selatan issues you referred to or not. I think it was just the ones labelled Indonesia that were issued right around the point in time when power was shifting from Dutch to Local Government. I'll see if I can find some to scan and add to this thread. Yes - these are the category that I believe were recently added to the catalogue. The others are still not recognized and fall into the Cinderella category. |

There are not many people collecting this Croatia "exile" issue of a cinderella stamps. Its high speculation area. Guess also there is not any atestor for that area. Can suggest only serious catalogue about that subject, as I know the last edition is from 2002 Dragutin Oparic;;Egzil 1934.-1992. It is on german language. |

Was the Free Croatia organization that issued the subject labels associated with Ante Pavelic?
Thanks, Robert |

These stamps were issued for private speculation. "The Croatian government-in-exile" has denied issuing such sets. And this triangle sets are marked as private issue in D. Oparic catalogue. Doing that cataloge Oparic was in contact with A. Pavelic daughter Visnja Pavelic and his son Velimir. There were many groups in croatian emigration after the WWII and many of them were not in good relations with other croatian groups. Ustasa movement is destroyed in 1945., later than that they could only call themself "ustasa" but the real movement doesnt exist from 1945. After the war Dr. Ante Pavelic settled in Buenos Aires where he lived from 1948 to 1957. He formed the government in exile on April 10 1951. In 1956, Dr. Pavelic founded the Croatian Liberation Movement (HOP, Hrvatski oslobodilacki pokret) in Buenos Aires. He headed this organization until his death in Spain in 1959. |
