would a SON deserve a premium over a non-SON cancel?
Some of the European catalogues depict and describe cancel centering as it pertains to value. So yes, for many people, a SON cancel will warrant a premium.
I might have an envelope with a few dozen examples of a given stamp that wouldn't sell for two cents, but I'll still consider paying something for another one with a really sharp cancel. (And I'm only talking about a cancel's appearance...rarity is another thing, entirely.)
