As far as I know this is a pure fantasy issue that appeared after the war. I have seen a number of references to this stamp over the years and all call it a "Fantasy Issue" pretending to be a propaganda stamp. |

The "fantasy issue" shows what GB stamps may have looked like if Hitler had been successful in invading England in 1940 - it is a work of fiction and in line with a few novels that have been based on the premise that the Nazis successfully invaded England during WWII - it should be consigned to the dust bin just like the nazis were |

They certainly are disturbing, but interesting. One has to wonder what the 'fantasy' is. Not for everyone that's for sure.

On another note: I have seen a 2 penny blue with letters in the corners. supposedly trials or essays or maybe Controls for checking purposes maybe. I believe those to be post '45 fantasies or forgeries. unsure but cool anyway. Thank you for showing these! |
