Hello to all
Can anyone please recommend to me a reasonably priced printer that can print black and white or color on a 10"x10" 110lb album page. I don't mind feeding the paper manually. Most printers are made for 8.5x11" so I was hoping to take advantage of the community's experience. Thanks

HP and Epson (and probably many others) make large-format printers. The inexpensive ones are inkjet, which may not be what you want, and they seem to get poor reviews.

If you know someone with access to a big office machine, some of them can go wide enough for your project, but your paper weight would require a straight-through paper path, which might be hard to find. (If my memory is correct, my office machine's manual says 32lb paper is the limit.)

Personally, I'd probably prepare the pages and then take a disc and the paper to a printer, copy shop, or big-box office supply place. Not as convenient, but I bet you'll be happier with the results from their $10,000 machine.

I faced a similar problem, as my custom pages are a large size. I initially used a Canon S9000 inkjet, which was an expensive printer in its day, but can now be had for about $100-200 used on ebay. I was happy with the results, and the only reason I quit using it was because I finally got to where I could afford a wide-format color laserjet.

I'm with @Cjd: It seems to make sense to take it to a copy shop.

I am currently producing pages that closely mimic the style of my Lighthouse albums. Either I am preparing pages that add details that the Lighthouse album doesn't provide, or I am producing unique album pages for my Machin collection. The paper stock is 10 ¾ inches wide by nearly 12 inches long. I am using my Epson Photo R2880, which is certainly over kill, but the real point, is that since what I am doing is unique for each page, it is invaluable for me to have my printer next to me. Many times, although I have very carefully checked my layout and the words I use, there are mistakes that I note only after I have printed the page out. So, to my mind, if you are going to be creative and vary your pages in accordance with your wont, I'd go for a printer next to you rather than down the street at a Kinkos or such. There are no lack of wide carriage printers out there and either new or used, whichever suits your pocketbook, but I would get one and have it at hand.

I've been thinking about using some old SG Simplex albums I found recently as a basis for some self-printed albums.
These pages are not that thick but have a large left hand margin for the sprung 'grip'which makes the pages over 10" wide.

What I needed to do was :-

Create a custom paper size in the printer driver.
Put the paper in upside down so the regular margin was on the right.
In the print options check both Rotate 180° (prints bottom to top) and Print order reversed (prints last page first).
This worked out great.
I'm using an Epson Stylus Photo 900 which is quite old now but has the ability to print onto CD/DVDs which means it can also print on thick cardstock.
I can buy third party ink cartridges for approx 10% of the official ones with no noticeable change in quality.

Example doesn't show the margin unfortunately

Thank you to all for your thoughtful comments. I will research both the Epson Stylus printer reccomendations.
Best Regards
