Great post, BeeSee!

I remember the first time I got those stamps. I had guessed Poland, but couldn't find it in the catalog. I had to look it up and was introduced to Central Lithuania for the first time. Before then, I had never heard of the country.

Good stuff.
The history behind the stamps makes these issues facinating.
Even though crude, love the 25 fennigi commemorative design "Lithuanian Girl"

Super maps. Thanks, Bee!

Identifying the stamps is second nature, but I could not have identified the shaded amoeba on a map without the benefit of the labels.

.... and Lithuania celebrated the annexation of Vilnius in October 1939 with this mini sheet and this overprinted set.

Thank you BeeSee for the interesting historical information. Just an amendment. The three stamps at the top are overpirnts over LITHUANIAN not Polish stamps. They are still in my "missing" list...

I see another error, on the third map. Memel is now part of Lithuania, not Russia. I will have to fix that tomorrow.

Nice Central Lithuania stamps, everyone .

Here is the 1921 semi-postal set, overprinted to raise money to support the Polish campaign during the Upper Silesia plebiscite.

I find you information on Central Lithuania quite interesting. I recently purchased a mixed worldwide bag of stamps and found a stamp that has been tentatively identified as a Central Lithuanian stamp. What can you tell me about it.

You have the low value of a set of six postage dues from 1921. The stamp depicts Vilnius University.
