Well I got called back today to buy the early material. Unfortunately he's not willing to let go of the Canadian provinces material, which is where the bulk of the really "fun" material is.
I bought the 3 stockbooks he brought in of early Canada. Not cheap by any means, just due to the amount of materal.
The early 19th century material through the large queens is quite a bit beat up, but the sheer volume of the late Victoria through King George material is astounding. No real high-dollar singles, but loads of $5-$50 material. Excluding the early Victoria entirely, it's still about $18,000 in Scott.
I'm in a quandry what to do with it all, including the volumes shown above.
1. Cherrypick the cancels and then flip the whole kit and kaboodle as a single lot (here, Bidstart, or
ebay).
2. Cherrypick it and make country lots/packets out of the rest, either with or without the best singles (which could conceivably be sold as singles or sets).
3. Sit down with Unitrade and start delving into color shades and varieties and take my time with it over several years.
#1 would be the most expedient, while #2 and #3 would be the most labor-intensive, with #3 probably the most fun over the long term.
Decisions, decisions...
