Inspired by the Latvian map discussion, how often has advertising been placed on the stamp reverse?

Here is a New Zealand 1891-95 Scott 68 2 1/2p ultramarine. What sort of product is being advertised? Hopefully something agreeable while one is licking the stamp.

Perhaps a gum boot?
Maybe raincoats (read "Mac's" Macintoshes, "Sou Westers" etc)

Is it just the New Zealand 1893 stamps that had advertising on the back, or are there other examples known?

I guess one could think of the advertising on a back of a stamp back then to the19th century equivalent of email hosting sites today that are supported by ad banners. ;-)

"For health and comfort, odorless proofing is the best"

Well, I didn't expect that.

Jamesw, you are a detective!

These days, there are medications and surgery for incontinence; 1893 not so much.

It seems like poor advertising to hide an ad behind the stamp where no-one will see. But maybe its ingenious in this case - when the product you are advertising is so private - only you will know its there. Actually makes sense!
