While sorting through a mountain of precancels I found this one smiling at me. First time I've seen one in red. Has anyone else seen one of these or have one in their collection?

Pretty cool looking if you ask me.

It is real! The 1 cent, 5 cent, 7 cent, 11 cent & 15 cent are known red for this 1922 issue. Issued in both Red & Black!

warrehouse,

Thanks for the info! I'll have to seek out more red cancels. Very attractive in my opinion.

Here's mine. I just rediscovered this one when transferring my precancels to a new album.

I'd like to see a scan of the blue Bangor precancel if anybody has one.

Regards, Robert

Edit: Re-uploaded image to replace Photobucket image.

Here's one of the red Bangor, ME precancels up for auction on Ebay. Less than a half hour left to the auction and no bids:

That stamp has been up at Ebay for about 7 years by M.Aldrich. He knows a lot about the revenue market, but somebody mis-priced almost all of the precancels he's offered - usually by about 10-times normal retail.

Anyone have a clue how much a BH 610 Schofield Barracks, HI, should run?

Not sure about catalog prices, but a now-closed Ebay auction recently sold one for $22.05; another one is offered on Ebay currently at a BIN price of $25.

You should be able to be able to buy the BH for a dollar or so, if you are not in a hurry.

Wow, really -- even for Schofield / Hawaii? As wt1 notes, I've seen Hawaii (and Schofield B. in particular) command a huge premium on eBay recently. Is that just hype?

If anyone has a Bangor, ME precancel they would part with, I would be interested. I grew up in Maine and collect covers and such from Maine.

Schofield is mostly NOT hype but the juice is in the odd denominations... the BH is among the easiest.
The BH for 25$ will never sell.

As long as Schofield Barracks is mentioned in this thread, I'll show a recent acquisition for me:

Schofield Barracks Station Honolulu Hawaii

I don't try to be encyclopedic; I only snap up precancels that are interesting to me in one way or another.

ETA: Geez, that's a muddy scan. I've been using a different scanner this morning, and I don't like the results.
