Hello, I was looking at some stamps on the web tonight and saw a stamp like the one below, which I have. The only difference between mine and the other one is mine is 5h while that one is 10h. It was described like this: Przedborz 1918 Fourth Issue-YNTN? Provisional. The transalation for Rada Miejska is City Council. I was sure, with my limited knowledgr, that this was a cinderella. Is it a cinderella or a provisional or neither?
Thanks
again
David

Przedborz Local Post stamp. Mentioned in the Witt Collection at http://www.cinderellas.info/wittcol...llection.htm; look under Poland 1917-1918 in the Witt Collection.

Hi David,

This is one of a set of four values from Przedbórz showing views or symbols of the town (5h red, 10h green, 15h blue & 20h violet) from the last issue of Przedbórz from 27th July 1918.

The town issues a number of sets:

1. Vertical eagle design with grosze (groschen) currency - 2 values - each perf and imperf.

2. Set similar to yours but without "RADA MIEJSKA" - grosze currency - 4 values - each in two perfs.

3. Set similar to yours but with "RADA MIEJSKA" and sun's rays - grosze currency - 4 values - one perf only.

4. Set similar to yours but with "RADA MIEJSKA" and sun's rays - halerzy (heller) currency - 4 values - each in two perfs.

5. Set including your stamp with "RADA MIEJSKA" but sun's rays removed - halerzy currency - 4 values - each in two perfs.

There were forgeries of this stamp but this one looks ok to me.

Thanks Kim for remaining us about the Witt collection. I'd forgotten that there were so many of these stamps shown there.

As far as I can see that site shows nice examples of each value apart from the halerzy set with the sun's rays.
