Hello, I wasn't reall sure what these stamps were when I bought them but I really liked the overprints and the fact that they were imperfs. I have since found out that these are Yugoslavian stamps overprinted, surcharged and used in Carinthia which was a stste in the Republic of Austria. I haven't done a lot of research yet but as I understand itCarinthia, at the end of WW1, was divided between Austria and Yugoslavia. In 1920 a referendum was held allowing the Carinthians to vote on whether to remain a part of Austria or become a part of Yugoslavia. The funds from the surcharged stamps (below) were used to enable Carinthians to travel to vote on the referendum. I have included a Wikipedia link that goes in great detail on this.
Thank you
David

I really like Plebicite stamps-and Carinthia is one of my favorites.
Some others might be able to upload more of the Austrian variety. My blogsite has an entry about Carinthia if interested.

Thanks for showing David. That is a very nice and unusual overprint.

I'll cheat and post a link to many of them, from both sides:

I'll scan a couple later and post images, just so that a few are here for posterity (in case, or when, wordpress folds). You can assemble a nice representation of both sides for not a lot of money.

Excellent thread and links,
I liked the flag representing collectors from
all over the world that have dropped into look.
What a huge family of people that collect little pieces of
perforated paper.
