Here's a pair I acquired a while back. Genuine on the left, forgery on the right.

This topic caught my eye, so see if I had some. Here they are (still hinged in grandfather's album). Anything unusual here?

Thanks.

Paul, your stamps look genuine, the inscriptions on the bottom are quite clear. Otherwise nothing unusual. The stamps are common, but the history behind is very interesting.

I have many stamps of the Army of the North, used and mint. The confusion I have is that I have a few that are perforated. I didn't see any mention of perf issues. Any ideas?

Itsjustme - Your stamps are philatelic creations. They were never perforated.

In my usual store, I found an old album with this stamp group that caught my attention due to its peculiar size and attractive range of colors, very simple in design but very beautiful... and that I was finally able to identify as Russian stamps of the northwest army
From what I have been able to read in this theatre, and comparing them with the photographs I think they are original, the values #8203;#8203;of 5k and 10k are wove paper, 50k, 20k and 15k are pelure paper. Regarding the cancellations, I think they could be original, I deduce this from the 15k model with a double cancellation.

The cancellations look like they are CTO, rather than postal usage.

Likely, they just were canceling full sheets so one missed the junction of four stamps.

That it was a mistake when canceling is a possible theory... but the reality is that the CTOs, at least the ones I have seen (in this series and others like the one about Germany's 5-year plan and some more... ) double cancellation does not exist... under this precept, why is a double CTO cancellation error (I would even say triple is visible) more likely than an double original cancellation? Are there any special details to pay attention to?
