A mother Theresa miniature sheet released by India.
This is of an unusual denomination - Rupees 45/-.

I have always admired Mother Teresa. She was awarded the Nobel Peace prize in 1979 for her work as an advocate for the poor, sick and needy. This souvenir sheet (Scott #1658) was issued the year of her death in conjunction with the stamp show INDIPEX '97 in New Delhi.

45 rupees is a high denomination considering the regular letter rate in 1997 was 2 rupees. I noticed that the sheet says "SPEED POST." Is speed post an overnight delivery service in India?

Yes speed post is a quick delivery service.
This is much more expensive then regular mail
as they deliver much faster - closer destinations
overnight. Bit I have had a recent experience when
it was slower than regular mail - LOL.
