Hello, I was happy to get these in the mail today and I have a couple of questions. I saw an older thread that had these stamps mentioned but they gave co catalog numbers. I did read where they are listed in the China specialized catalod, which I don't have. My first question is--What are the catalog numbers if anyone knows. My second question is did I pay too much for them. I paid $10 for them I don't really care what the catalog price is but I have a chance to possibly get a couple more and just want to make sure I am in the ball park on these before I bid on the other ones.

Thank you as usual
David

Left to right they're:

SG 158 (if litho) or SG 165 (if typo) / Scott #153 or 153a respectively
SG 159 (if litho) or SG 166 (if typo) / Scott #154 or 154a respectively
SG 178 (typo) / Scott #161

Hi Dave,

My catalogues aren't right up to date but I'm afraid $10 looks much too high to me.

The 2009 Scott values for the cheapest versions are 30c, 30c and 65c and that's before you adjust for the damaged perfs.

Wow, I guess I should jave asked before I bid on them, not after. This was one of the few times I have bid on something I knew nothing about. Lesson learned, do your research first.
Many thanks nigelc, I appreciate it

According to the Chinese specialised catalogue (Chan), the typo and litho versions of the ½ and 1 Cent stamps can be distinguished by the presence or absence of a dot in the border above the SH of SHANGHAI

Chan rates the ½ and 1 Cent mint litho at around $US2, and typo at around $US0.20, each - but as Nigel says, you need to discount for the condition of your stamps.

Thanks Tony,

Scott indicates the same point of difference although I missed this when looking it up.

This improves the Scott 2009 catalogue used prices to 30c (typo), $1.75 (litho) and 65c.

I forgot about the Jubilee overprint. Chan rates it at about $US0.20 mint or used.
