Close. That's Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands.

In the Scott catalog, Netherlands #128(Oct1923), commemorating the 25th anniversary of her coronation.

There are 11 in the set in two designs (Scott 124-134).
Here is one of the other designs from another thread.
It is an expensive set with the item below coming in at $150 and not being the most expensive but alas the ones we have shown are less than $1.
The set will be around $350 cat used, $450 mint and $900 MNH.

Most of the catalog value is from the top 2 denominations in the set (2.5g and 5g). The 2 stamps make up for ~85% and ~95% of the mint and used set Scott catalog values, respectively.

mrmagic,

Rod is usually the one who has pushed this idea, but I think it is a great idea, so I'm going to make the same suggestion.

Can you edit your FIRST post in these ID threads? Once you get the stamp IDed, if you could change the TITLE on your first post to reflect the actual stamp. For example, in this thread, you could change the title to "Netherlands Queen Wilhelmina silver jubilee". That way, others know what is in the thread, and in the future can find the thread easily using a search. Do not put the catalog number in the title because not all of us use the Scott catalog.

Another tidbit -- she actually became queen in 1890 when her father died. However, she was only 10 years old. She was officially enthroned in 1898 when she reached the age of 18. That's why the year on the stamp is 1898.

Bravo khj,
I have given up this suggestion
for fear of "nagging"

I thought it was an excellent suggestion. I've used the search function enough to realize how important thread titles are to filter the hits down even more.

I think if we all pitch in and mention this every once in a while, especially to new members, things would be better.

Of course, members are under no obligation to comply -- it is only a "suggestion".

Thanks to all those who have cooperated in the past!
